“Everyone so today. I wanted to view the asus zenbook. Which is a new ultrabook ultrabook manufactured by asus. I just bought this ultrabook and i think it s incredible is the box.
I just want to go over some of the features of the ultrabook as well as do a comparison to the macbook air. And why i think that this is a excellent purchase compared to the macbook air. So this is just the box. I wanted to show it because i think it s really nice and really good looking.
I think asians really went ahead and made sure that all their products within the box also look excellent so some of the things that it comes with comes with this pouch. This cable tie and two dongles. This is a ethernet download that comes with and it also comes with a micro or mini vga to vga dongle. Some does just the dongle their own you cover so it also comes with this.
Nice pouch and you can actually put your ultrabook inside this pouch. I use it and it serves a great purpose to actually protect your ultrabook. Let s take it out it s incredibly thin and some of the features will see it has a. Sata.
3 hard drive so 128 gigabyte solid state drive has usb 30. We have a core i5 processor 2557. It also has bluetooth the screen resolution is 1600 x. 900.
Which is a little bit more than. The macbook air. Which is a 1440 x. 900.
Comes in 4 gigabytes of ddr3 ram clocked at 1333 megahertz. I believe windows 7 comes pre loaded home premium also has some instant on technology. Where you actually lift it up and starts up within two seconds. Just login here.
The screen is incredibly bright well lit right now. It s not i put it in battery mode..
I already saved money just putting a high performance record by the way i have not recharged this laptop in two days. The battery life is just amazing on this laptop. I ve used it in class and user at home using the office for the past two to three days and haven t charged it once also comes with bang and olufsen speakers and i can tell you this ultrabook is incredibly small and thin. But boy it sounds incredibly large.
The speakers are just amazing on this thing. The screen resolution again it s a 1600 x 900. But it has 450 nets. Which means that kind of bright well it can get very brave and put a maximum brightness for you so.
The screen can get incredibly bright also has a point three megapixel webcam. Which is not that much but you know it gets the job done. I mean if you re going to buy this ultrabook. You re not really buying it for some of the gaming or webcamming aspects.
I m sure you can webcam. But you d probably be better off using an external webcam. It also comes with one year of accidental warranty. So if you actually damage this ultrabook within one year.
They will cover that for you which which i think is great out of the box. Because i know the macbook air. Does not include that also comes with a one year limited warranty the weight of this ultrabook is around. 28 six.
Pounds i believe or two point nine six. Pounds it s 286. Miles right the macbook air is two point nine six pounds so this is slightly lighter. But it actually feels around the same as the macbook air thickness wise.
So it tapers off to about point 11 inches. At the front. And i believe the back is around point 71. The macbook areas of point 68.
So it s just as thin as a macbook air. If not slightly more..
Thick so we have a sd card over here on the side usb. 20 and an audio jack and on the other. Side we have usb 30. Mini vga and a micro hdmi with a adapter for the power and nothing else on the bag nothin on the front.
So it s definitely made for portability so i m just address some of the problems that people had with the firmware. Something about this ultrabook um. When i check some of the reviews online. People were complaining about the keyboard and the trackpad.
Some of the main complaints were that the trackpad was not that responsive and it was quirky. But i actually have no problems with this trackpad whatsoever. Um. Some people said that the keyboard was not that good either that it would not register the keystrokes until you unless you press directly in the center of the keys.
Which is which i m not having a problem with the asus did address these problems i mean. I didn t have these problems. But they release some updates. My laptop worked fine out of the box.
And after i did. The updated continued working fine. So i have no problems with that um. I m actually really surprised that there are not that many five star reviews about this also but because i think.
This is a five star ultrabook everything about it screams elegance. I mean. The design is just spectacular cut like a concentric circle pattern in the front and a blush metal finish in the back is really incredible. What asus has done with this ultra look the start of time is just ridiculously fast.
I mean you have a sata 3. Ssd drive here let me just show you an example how quickly this ultrabook starts up. So. I m just going to quickly start here for you just to give you a gist of how quickly it starts up.
And you ll see so let s see here. Let me see some of the other features of the laptop..
Okay so let s just let it do its thing. So here. We go starting windows. Got the colors and boom.
So on sometimes it even does a little bit before that so clearly very. Fast. So the macbook air 133. Inch.
Is what around 12 99. And this is around 1099. So you re saving around 200 bucks. It comes with one year accidental warranty so you don t have to pay for that also comes with a bunch of accessories.
You don t have to pay for that comes with a very nice couch. Where s the pouch. See this is the pouch you have to pay for that it s incredible thin. Almost a stanza macbook air.
This is my blackberry 9930 just to give you an example this thing is literally as thin as my black book sorry blackberry 9930 my 9930 is pretty damned in it s almost a stint as an iphone 4. So this thing definitely delivers on all aspects. I mean for the price you re paying. You can t really get a.
Sadder 320. Gigabyte ssd. With you know a 1600 x. 900.
Resolution. Core. I5. You can t get all that for that price especially with this brushed metal finish.
I mean i just want to show you maybe. If my webcam will focus just showing you some of the the finish on this netbook..
I mean not networked ultrabook is just incredible iq month. A netbook that should give you a comparison of the size. So this is my lenovo s10. I bought this netbook a few years ago.
Let me just show you how thick it is compared to this i mean come on there s just no comparison. And it s not even 10 or near as fast as the zenbook. Some people complain that you know you can t use the keyboard. Unless you hit right directly in the center of the keys.
I did not have that problem and i type pretty fast. I typed around 100 more for a minute and this keyboard. I actually don t like chiclets keyboards like this. But i did not have a problem with this keyboard um.
I think it s it s kind of shallow. But i did have problems with it i actually don t run into any typos with this keyboard. I m just giving an example here of how quickly it starts up microsoft office. So we re 2010 starting done very fast.
Okay i mean it just it flies okay. So this is the ultrabook maxed out 10 83. Runs. Very smoothly full screen.
The audio is very nice it has a full sound even though. It s a thin laptop. And i m just coming out of something that weighs less than a pound. I think for anybody in the market for a very portable very fast ultrabook should definitely consider the asus.
