Ill be teaching or something very simple how to make jello youre watching watching the bear pantry show. I want to show you guys first of all how make jello and then when its set. Im going to show you how we as belizeans eat it you know i might you might kind of laugh and say wait a minute.
Everybody knows how to make jello. But i found that every time jada makes it she doesnt like really let it resolve in the hot water first really well and so you you kind of have half the jello stuck to the bottom. Thats not really set or form into anything decent.
So i open. I got the big box here okay and they have the little box. Where you would use one cup of one cup.
But i got the big box and all im adding is two cups of boiling hot water and i dont have a kettle every now and again i say ill buy one just to beautify the stove. Because we dont use kettles heres we have a water dispenser that puts out hot water and you can also nuke it in the microwave thats two cups and i think.
This is where jenna gets a little bit impatient and she kind of rushes to add the cold water. Because all were going to add after this is two cups of cold water. Im not making jello jigglers or anything like that anything in a mold.
Im just doing plain old jello and we as belizean people were notorious for bare pantry type meals because you guys know that thats why i named the show. Bare pantry show. Were so good at making a meal or a dessert out of nothing all were going to eat this jello with youre gonna see it i dont want to tell you i dont wanna give it away.
Im gonna tell you at the end okay. What we eat the jello with so youre going to have to watch the whole video before you make your jello because youre going to want to see what we eat it with at the end anyways. Im just going to stay here for a few minutes.
The life is totally dissolved. And then im going to be adding the cold water so as you can see you really need to make the jello.
This is all really well in the hot water before you start adding the cold okay because if you dont youre going to have the grains or the grounds of the jello underneath. And you wont get a good gelatinous type dessert two minutes later cell look at her jello. Its all disintegrated in there so now were going to add our cold water and then were going to put this on the refrigerator and let it set meet you back here in a couple of hours.
So we can serve some of this up okay is that all it is to it you have to stir it for at least two to two and a half minutes for it to be totally dissolved. So lets get this in the fridge. So here we go the jello is ready and im laughing because this is how true belizeans eat jello you get your serving going put it in this beautiful little glass.
Okay and all you do is you open a can of evaporated milk. We used to call it pet milk when we were little because that was a brand this ban just happened to be kroger. So im going to name this video.
Jello with pet milk. And this will take any belizian person back a few years and this is how we eat it we just pour evaporated milk on the jello and we basically go on ahead and eat this for a dessert.
Very cheap very simple dessert right but tastes so good people who are lactose intolerant. This is not going to work this is awesome jello and pet milk. Im having such fun making all these recipes from when i was a child growing up in the lees when i was little this recipe was called jello and pet milk and i realized now that thats because the evaporated milk that they used to use back then the brand was pet and that brand doesnt exist. Anymore. I searched high and low.
Because i wanted to be true to the recipe from when i was little. But the brand doesnt exist. Anymore.
I dont know if one of the other big brands gobbled it up or whatever. But for right now use any evaporated milk that you like or like i do any of opperating milk thats on sale you know they have many brands that you can pick from but basically.
This is how believes in people jellow. We dont eat it by itself. We dont make jigglers out of it we dont make moles.
We dont do any of those things we basically just make it the regular way and as you can see you have to take your time to make the hot water dissolve the jello completely or youre going to get you know jello. Thats not so great. And you just go ahead and add cold evaporated milk to it.
And you eat it that way. This is a wonderful sweet treat for the summer. Its not too sweet.
You know i dont know that if jello is all that healthy but i know its not as unhealthy and some of the stuff that weve made already this summer. Right all the sweet ideals and stuff like that so anyways. I hope you guys try this tell if you like it and if youre belizian.
