“Is good my guys and girls a youtube. I am justin omo here to make make an updated video on how to stop hearing yourself in fl studio 20 for who are new or want to not hear themselves when they are recording their vocals. So there s two things i ll have to go about technically three first i ll go about how to turn it off in fl studio. And if that did not work or you so hear yourself i ll go over the other two reasons.
Why you may hear yourself in your computer or in your headphones. When you are speaking. So the reason why i m going over to fl one first is because it it s obviously is super simple and you just may not even understand it so. If you have a insert track with your microphone input it for money that s input 5 up to you whatever input you have maybe a 1 maybe.
It s two i don t know up to you up to what you plug it in and set it up as if you have it in there. And you re speaking and you are hearing yourself similar to how i hear myself right now like this you hear this little echo. That s because i hear myself so if i were to actually show you an example of where i won t hear myself it ll be something like this so yeah now i m speaking you see the signal and you can hear me right now. But if i put my headphone to the thing you don t hear that double double double effect.
But the way we re going about this is you know in fl studio. Simple just click on the insert your in finder routing to the master insert. Which is this little knob here. See that triangle thing click.
It and you will not hear yourself you now. I was saying you can t hear me i can t hear myself either if you got to that point you re good you re set and you won t hear yourself. When you are recording and i ll go ahead and record. An example and show you and i have no track so i got no beat.
So yeah i ll just spit some you okay so i just spoke into the mic and i ll hit play..
Yeah. Booty screw. You appleton you fat yeah well um. Yeah said what i meant i meant.
Les said and i basically spoke into there without hearing myself in the headphones with the exception of the damage. No which i had to turn off that s it soft story is solved. But if you still hear yourself. There s a couple things that i could show you to probably help fix that issue because it may not even be a fl studio issue first of all if you are using the master.
Insert as a microphone. Don t do that turn it off go into an empty insert because we want the empty insert didn t you know do it yeah. Because if you re in master. You won t be able to turn off this output.
See i m pressing done. It s not showing me these have to be set to none otherwise we ll hear ourself double or something and the mouse. The master is where we re gonna hear everything like the beat or whatever. That s in other inserts and set to this order.
If it s not even set it s just gonna go to master automatically. So yeah make sure you are not recording in the master insert good now that we solved that problem if you still hear yourself. And you are absolutely not in fl studio as in this is closed that that may indicate that your microphone is being heard throughout of your computer or your audio interface. Which is not showing your audio interface right there cool if you have an audio interface like this and it says direct monitor over here.
You see this knob says direct..
Monitor let me go ahead and scroll over to it right here. If you have this knob set anywhere to input up to like barely a centimeter off that playback function. You will hear your mic or whatever is in the input. Knobs are not knobs inside the input jacks so if you got a guitar set on input 2 or something and you re playing it and you are a hundred percent on playback.
You will not hear it but if you are a 99 percent playback. You will hear that guitar 1 percent or 100 percent of the time. You ll hear 1 percent. Yeah so make sure this knob is all the way set to playback playback being the computer and what is being sent to the outputs into you know your ears.
If this is on input. You ll hear a hundred percent input you will not hear your computer. So yeah. Some people may have it in the middle like how it is because you re unsure put it on playback.
A hundred percent. It may say cpu or something like that if so you re good that should solve it if not if you have a usb microphone. Then this is the answer to that right here so if i go to these sound icon down here. I m not sure what it is on the mac you right click it you go to sounds.
And it shows up right there my hair is looking weird. This is the panel you want to go to if you don t have the sound icon down doors are weird go to start control panel and then look for the button. That says sound you click it and i ll show the same window here that highlighted go to your recording tab and notice that you hear or you see a signal here on the webcam for example. My webcam has a microphone in it if i double click it go to the listen tab and see if this thing is unchecked.
If it is unchecked and you still hear yourself try and do this click on the check hit apply you re gonna hear my mic from my webcam so sounds weird right uncheck it hit apply good just like that and you should not be able to hear yourself after doing that if you still hear yourself perhaps you used a wrong device like it s not your usb mic like this was just my webcam mic..
It wasn t even my microphone that it could be the issue so make sure you use the right one so focusrite usb listen. If i turn this on you know i can hear what is being going through the input. And the reason. Why you heard those echoes.
Just now was because my input 1 2. Is set to the computer. The output for my thing. So basically what i m saying right now.
It s being recorded in so right now you hear me. But what s really happening is i m speaking through the computer. It s outputting into my audio interface and then from the out jack s is going straight into the inputs of my audio interface weird. But you don t have to worry about that part and if you still have an issue it could be within your usb microphone itself maybe there is a knob on the usb microphone to turn off that monitoring like for example so here s a beautiful microphone.
My favorite the samson g track. My first love of my life when it came to the microphones. Samson g. Track.
Over here. We have the input and on the other side. We have something called monitor. So yeah yes it s direct monitor so could you see it well i m sure i m not sure.
If you can see that well all right my bad..
It says derek monitor. And it has a slide that says mono stereo or off on here. It says mix stereo and off. Which is pretty weird.
Maybe. I have the first version of this thing or mono stereo cpu. My bed over here. It says mix stereo.
And oh yeah. Mine is better set it to off or cpu. And you will not hear yourself. So yeah.
That should solve all your issues when it comes to speaking into the microphone. So yeah. I think i really did the recording for that the example so if this helped you out which it should help you out a hundred percent be sure to hit the thumbs up subscribe to your boy and leave a. I don t know comment.
If you want say helped it didn t help if it didn t help let me know what you did and maybe someone could help you like myself or maybe someone in the comments. If they re awesome enough to do so so yeah once again my name is justin omo ii and with that being said peace and have yourselves a damn good one ” ..
