“Guys how s it going i ve used the nikon s1 over the past couple couple days. I ll give you my thoughts and opinions and full review on what thought of nikons latest entry level compact systems camera coming in at 500. This is nikon s cheapest entry level camera. And it sits right underneath the j 3.
It features a 10 megapixel cx sensor and the nikon 1 lens mount you can see on the back it has a really minimal design checking out the menu you can see that it has different shooting. Modes playback and you can check out your settings on the scroll wheel..
We can choose what type of shooting mode. You re going to select so soft miniature effects selective color auto. So you ve got a bunch of different functions you can actually choose from we have self timer on the left flash on the bottom and on the left hand side. We actually have a button to manually raise the flash.
I ll take a quick look from the front. So you guys can see what the flash looks like when it s raised the s 1 comes bundled with the eleven to twenty seven point five millimeter zoom lens and taking a look at the bottom..
We obviously have the tripod mount as well as the battery compartment and sd slot. So getting to the actual photo quality. I was actually really impressed with how the s1 performed when i had good light. This is where the s1 really shine.
It was extremely quick accurate especially using autofocus and this is of course comparing it to pricier dslrs. The one thing that kind of bothered me was the interface of the camera..
If i want to say control aperture or shutter speed. I had to manually go through the menu with no dedicated wheel or button to control that but of course. That s found in pricier ranged cameras. And i would definitely recommend this to say beginners coming from pointing shoots looking for their first compact systems camera.
First mirrorless camera. I think this would be a great addition to their arsenal..
