Welcome to area 17 boot camp. My name is melt. I’ll be your host host for hopefully.
Giving you a warped jump on how to play ark of war war is a war colony pay2win cell phone game it’s a huge game. We say it’s a pay2win game. You don’t have to pay it certainly helps and gives you an edge in the competition.
But it’s a big game you’re probably here because you downloaded it you started playing and you said. Oh my god what have i gotten myself into.
I want to give you a grasp on that and in this series of videos in this playlist. Hopefully. You’re gonna start understanding the game much faster than the rest of us did because i’ve been playing for a few years and the game hasn’t changed much and the intro is still about the same so i wanted to revisit it and give players the help i needed when i got started so i understand no one likes long winded videos.
Everyone’s a quick short answer to their quick short question. But unfortunately because of how this game plays out that’s kind of difficult to do so trust me with your time. I’ll do my best to make sure i don’t waste.
It let’s get into it first. We want to understand the general concept arc of war is taking place this game is on a server.
You can click on the world map. You can go to star map you can see all the other stars out. There these are all other servers identical layout to yours on your server.
You can click world and you can see this giant planet this one continent. It’s broken down into seven other many continents with the capital in the middle santacon is the middle capital that’s the one you want if you want to put your guild your name on the server change the flag change it whatever you change the migration rules. But ultimately the other capitals do yield gold and benefits.
There’s not a great benefit to having them. It’s not essential to have the capitals.
It’s just generally a lot of fun every other day each capitol comes up you and your guild fight other guilds for it and you get kind of bragging rights for doing it so this is the battlefield. This is the layout. It’s a giant rectangle you can click on the super top left up here.
And it always takes you to the top left corner. You can click on the super bottom right. It always takes you to the bottom right hand corner.
If you click on the bottom right in this rectangle. You have the opportunity to attack other players and be attacked all the while there are resource nodes or green houses.
And what are they called private banks. What one wreckage basically. There’s five major resources food and parts gas and electricity and cash.
And what you’re gonna find out is that food and parts are the kind of more for troops and then gas electricity are more for building upgrades. And then cash is used for everything there are well let’s not get into the troop types. Yet basically what you want to do is you want to get enough commanders.
I mean. This is the real jump start you want to get enough commanders to start hitting other players.
Because at the heart of what our core is it’s a pvp game. The best way to play it is start a war start attacking other ships draw fire on yourself. And know how to defend yourself.
And then know how to shield and jump. When you’re getting into trouble shielding makes it so that no one can attack you when you’re offline. Because you can’t.
Pause arc of war you are always at war this game. Takes place on your cell phone.
It never stops now you’ll notice. I play it on an emulator. Some players play it on a tablet and a cell phone.
I play it on all three. I film on emulator because it’s just easier that way there’s really no benefit to it except that you can do macros that can help with clicking that’ll come into play later so welcome to our core. What do you need to do on your first day well in order to do anything you have to have commanders and that means if you want to hit other players to get resources or get more resources you have to steal them so that means you can go up to the top left click your commander they start you off with flare flares not a bad commander he has a 20 percent guaranteed hit skill.
It means no one can dodge it if he triggers his skill. He’s gonna land the hit later on in tier 4 tier.
5. To 6 people will start using this dodge mechanic to try to avoid being hit. And this skill comes into play.
Now later on flare is considered a good starter commander. You want to get a 40 guaranteed hit. See.
Most commanders have the first skill. The second skill and then an awakening skill.
When you get them to s class. When you release them enough out of the warp gate. You get this awakening ability to trigger 60 of the time.
It does bonus damage. You can also awaken them to give them bonus stats. That’s a higher level thing don’t worry about that right now just focus on getting your first skills to level 15 level 20.
In the first couple of days. And get a couple of commanders now the next thing is leadership right you want to have the ability to bring troops with you right now flair.
Only inspires 40 leadership of most people watching this have already gotten to this point. But i got to cover the basics what you want to do is get to about a thousand that’s when your success rate for adding magazines goes down right. Now if i just add one my leadership goes from 40 to 42 successfully added it at a hundred percent okay as you get higher up eight hundred nine hundred it starts dropping off all the way down to forty percent.
We have special events that’ll let you in increase your success rate by up to fifty percent. So generally you shouldn’t take your commanders over a thousand leadership unless. It’s an event.
But on a brand new arc. You normally want to get to two or three thousand leadership and you won’t get an add leadership event till your first merge your server merge which could take up to you know two or three months so it’s okay to burn. Some magazines early on to get three good farming commanders that can hit other players and hit tiles.
When you’re offline. Okay that being said let’s look at what we’ve got we’ve got a ton of stuff to upgrade basically do all the upgrades as you see them you’re gonna need a ton of it everything’s level one just if you see a green arrow upgraded you’re gonna burn through your resources pretty slowly at first because everything’s super cheap burn the gold that’s okay you’re gonna get plenty of free gold and then we’re gonna get into how to get free stuff every day. Like what should you be doing every day to take advantage of what the game will give you without you having to pay anything so let’s talk about that music.
