“Everybody and welcome back to the channel. Today. We re looking at the pts patch patch notes for the elsewhere chapter. This video is all about the templar class changes.
Reminder that i am reviewing all the class changes on my channel. This week. So let s jump right in and see what s new with stamina magicka templars. 4. Elsewhere all right so we re starting with the a drake spears skill line. This is our offensive skills as a templar burning light got a quick fix here so apparently the proc from burning light used to be dodge able and they just fixed that bug.
So that sounds good focus charge got a bit of a damage reduction here. The damage dealt by this ability got reduced by 8 making it more in line with other gap closers. So they did increase explosive charge. Though that s the aoe morph of this skill so that s actually a pretty decent buff of your using that ability 15 extra aoe damage sounds good to me toppling charge got fixed a little bit as far as bugginess with the cc.
What i really like though now is that the all the ability always will apply off balance. Now so it used to be the target had to be casting in order to get that off balance proc. So they remove that part of this morph. So it says.
This will always apply off balance. So i think that s a good change for this morph specifically so our javelins skill looks like this got a bit of a buff as well they increase the stun duration. I guess i just wanted it to be a whole number which okay. That s cool so aurora javelin that s the magic of morph now stuns for two seconds.
And then binding javelin is the stamina morph stuns for a full four seconds. That s pretty massive apparently also on aurora javelin. There was an issue with the scaling it shouldn t be scaling greater damage. The greater range.
You have apparently that wasn t working too well so it s now going to be 2 percent stronger every one meter up to 40 percent at 20 meters. So. This is going to be quite strong. I didn t use this skill too much on the magic of templar.
But i might try it out now. Because that s a lot of damage at max range puncturing strikes. This is actually a pretty big change for the skill this went with the change that s happening to channels in general they reduced the channel time down by 01. Seconds.
So now it s one second instead of one point. One. I haven t been able to test this yet..
But apparently that s going to make it easier to weave with this ability. The issue has always been jabs and puncturing strikes just kind of bugging out especially if you re trying to weave with it hopefully. This will improve that and mean that using light attack weaving with this skill will be more reliable. I hope that s what it means we ll see when we get to test it out.
Though so radial sweep. This is a little bit complicated rago sweep. Seems like it got a bit of a buff. But also maybe a nerf depending on how you used it so let s talk about that so first the buff.
They increase the radius to 8 meters. From 6 meters. And i do like that because always felt with sweep. The radial sweep either crescent sweep or empowering sweep that it was hard to hit it was hard to land on enemies because of the aoe cone.
So the fact that this is now 8 meters. That s pretty big hopefully that means we can land this a lot more reliably. So i like this change. I think that s a good change for the skill overall.
Though i m not a big fan of how they re changing empowering. So if you re not familiar empowering sweep was the defensive morph of this skill. And it used to give you major protection. I think it was like 6 seconds of major protection and then it would actually scale up to seconds for each enemy hit.
So you could get something like 12 seconds of major protection. Both on magica templar and stamina templar now i did physical damage. But that s really not a big deal because we were using it just for defense. This was an amazing ultimate it cost like 70 ultimate and we give you like 10 seconds or more of major protection.
I use this both on magica and stamina templar for pvp builds and i really like this skill. But now they re pretty much reworking it so let s see what they re doing here. So they redesigned this morph. The damage pulse.
Now last six seconds and base. But it increases two seconds for each enemy hit up to a maximum of six enemies. So quick math 6 times 2 is 12 plus the initial 6. I m guessing 18 seconds of this ability.
It also now grants empower for the duration rather than major protection and let s check out the comment. So templar has many ultimates defensive ultimates. Already so they got nova. They got remembrance blah blah blah and they wanted more offensive moments in the tool kits.
Blah blah blah okay so yeah i i guess i agree that they have defensive ultimates. But these these are either tank or healer ultimates. I don t know you guys i really liked the original empowering sweep just for the quick defense..
It made my especially my stamina templar ultra tanky. I was able to do a medium armor stamina templar and basically never die thanks to empowering sweeps. So i don t know i m gonna miss this skill it sounds though like it s gonna be quite powerful as an offensive morph for stamina templar. But the thing to think about too is we always have dawnbreaker of smiting is this gonna really be better than dawnbreaker of smiting dawnbreaker gives you the aoe stun for example.
Which is really clutch really nice on on the stampler builds. So i don t know i ll definitely be doing some testing to see if this is better than dawnbreaker of smiting and if it is then okay great i m definitely gonna miss being able to have dawnbreaker on my front bar and then you know as my offensive. Ultimate and then sweeps on my back bar as my defensive ultimate. I really like that playstyle.
But we ll see oh well let s jump down the spear shards. Spear shards. Is our ground based a oe4 magica templars. So they increase the initial hit damage by 36.
That sounds really good they also increase the dot by 5 and they adjusted the rankings so spear shards does increase damage as it ranks up so that s good i really like this change for healers. And support builds. Luminous shards. Which is the other morph.
You get a cost reduction on each morph 90 magical s. Each rank. That s really cool. I like that and then blazing spear just increases the damage so good some really nice buffs.
There for spear shards. It already was a good ability seems to be even better now sun shield. I ll be honest. I don t use this a lot so they updated the tooltip which i m always a fan of doing especially for weird skills like this it s important to define what the skill actually does but the increasing nibs.
The initial damage of this ability. And the radiant ward morph by 150 which is a lot so it s gonna be a strong aoe damage source now they didn t touch blazing shields damage so that s probably good as far as pvp is concerned and then specifically on radiant ward. It s no longer gonna have cost reduction. It has a bonus shield size 9 per enemy hit at rank 4.
That s pretty good so i may have to go back and actually test this ability out it sounds like i got some decent buffs. This patch dawns wrath. So eclipse you might know this more as total dark. If you play pvp with a m.
Gico. Templar total dark. Has always been a super strong ability in pvp so it did. It was bugged.
Though previously so it used to proc if your enemy was using spiked armor. The dk buff or other damage return. Things like this is a pvp set..
I believe so it used to just really be bugged and do a lot of damage. Especially two decays using spiked armor. So it looks like they fix that which is is good that s a good thing tooltip will now have an internal cooldown. I m not sure what that is maybe.
It s a like a second or a half second. But that s good to know and then this is uh. This is a nerf definitely a nerf here they reduced the damage dealt by 25. So this scale.
Did do quite a bit of damage. If your enemy wasn t paying attention and they didn t break hidden cc break the total dark. They could basically kill themselves on you so this i think in terms of balance. Probably the a decent change.
I like that they did not change the heal. So it says they only reduce the damage. The heal is gonna be the same so i m okay with that change okay power of light. The very strong stamina templar ability.
This is interesting so they adjusted the rank progression. So the initial hit no longer does more damage okay. Because there is an initial hit to this but instead they increase the duration of minor fracture and breach. So according to their math.
There s that s going to result in three peat 3 less damage. Which doesn t sound too bad. We ll see if that s true. But the duration of minor fracture minor breach is now nine seconds two instead of six so in terms of like pve builds.
I don t think this is really a big deal because you ll be casting this every six seconds on cooldown. But for pvp. I actually like this change because you don t always recast this especially. If your targets.
Almost dead at that six second point. What that means is you can just leave it. Alone you an extra three seconds of those debuffs just to finish off the target without having to recast. So i like this i like this for pvp solar flare.
This is a big change. If you use this ability so they reduced the cast time they re doing that one second rule on channels. Which i guess is fine they crease the travel time which is pretty good i guess. It s probably one of the slowest skills in the game.
So that s good to see. But here s the really big nerf you guys they decrease the damage. 37..
37. Is a lot that is quite a lot in pvp. This is kind of know of this is worth running anymore i used to do a solid amount of damage where you could combo it with other abilities. It was it was interesting it was high risk high reward.
I think and now since it s so much less damage. It s still high risk and medium to low reward. I guess i don t know i know that s worth it anymore. Solar barrage which is the other more if that got tweaked so they removed the delay so you get one extra ticket damage okay sunfire this is our dot skill for magic a templar so they re doing the standard rule set again that means they increased it.
But it s gonna have less burst damage so it s eight seconds long now should be roughly the same dps okay so vampires bane got boosted to 12 seconds. That s quite strong that s great for pvp as well just put a vampire s bane on somebody 12 seconds of damage is pretty pretty strong reflective light they kind of boosted the area there okay cool alright restoring lights for you healers out there breath of life was finally fixed how long has this bug been around this has been around probably like a year at least so a long time ago. If you don t know breath of life used to be like 360 aoe meaning you could heal. Anyone you didn t have to be facing them it would auto target.
The lowest person and you get a heel off even if you were like facing a wall or something it was crazy so they made it so you had to be at least facing the target. But then there s this secondary heel. Which never got changed. It was still a 360 heel.
So now it s been fixed so just keep that in mind if you use breath of life morph it s only gonna heal anybody in your line of sight cleansing ritual. This is really interesting you guys if you play a stamina templar. You probably run extended ritual for the purge effect. This just got scaled first dam on the templars.
This is really cool so it now grants healing and damage based on your highest offensive stats. So either stamina weapon damage or magica and spell damage that means on a stamina templar. You re gonna get more damage from the dot component. You re gonna get more healing from the heal over time that s cool.
I m definitely gonna try this on my stand on the templar and see how effective it is at damage and healing. That s pretty cool so ritual retribution if you used that morph it can now critically heal. Which is good and then just a little buff here on the incantation so overall. I think the templar changes were pretty positive.
I m not sure how i feel yet on empowering sweeps. I m going to have to try that out on my stamina templar and see if it s worth running.
