16 port gigabit switch This is a topic that many people are looking for. newyorkcityvoices.org is a channel providing useful information about learning, life, digital marketing and online courses …. it will help you have an overview and solid multi-faceted knowledge . Today, newyorkcityvoices.org would like to introduce to you TP-link 16 port Gigabit Ethernet Switch. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“Tim here with the tp link pl st. 1016. This is a 16 port gigabit gigabit ethernet switch. I got it at amazon for slightly under 70 and quite honestly didn t want to pay that much but this is the best one.
I could find with the specs and attributes that i wanted this is a rack mountable switch. But you could also mount it to a wall. If you want in here all your accessories and this is of course your manual devices like this come in multiple sizes usually 5 8. 16 and 24.
I connect as many things as i can wires funny and more than face..
But not 24 pretty good construction not particularly heavy the color the dark gray and blue. I would prefer an all black model. But it s good there is a simple clean here we have with 16 ports and to the left of the ports. Are the numbers with corresponding lights to each port and i ll demonstrate that in a bit let s talk about some features to save energy this automatically powers down idle ports.
That are not in use plus budgets peak power output depending on the length of the connected ethernet cable. Thus saving supposedly up to 40 percent power consumption. This switch has a 19 inch rack mountable steelcase with 32 gigabits per second. Which.
In capacity is also a families design to keep it very quiet makes no noise..
But also has many events so will not overshoot with speeds up to a thousand megabits per second transferring large files from computers takes very little time plus. They re going to have the fastest speeds possible for your internet connection. Unless you have something crazy over a thousand megabits per second. Now.
Let s take a look at the mounting hardware you get to these metal pieces. Which will connect here. There is eight of these tiny screws that connect these metal pieces to switch. Four for each.
If your wall mounting this there are no drywall screws..
So you ll need your own and if you re not going to mount this it comes with four rubber feet and have a pieces and stick right to the bottom. Also it doesn t come with a rack mounting screws if you have a rack mount you most likely already have them and then we have the different positions for mounting it to a wreck or to the wall so rack here and this way for the wall. Now i want to do a quick test to see if everything s working this red cord is connected to another gigabit switch. Which in turn is connected to a whole bunch of devices including my router.
The black one connected to this laptop and the internet is working a good thing about a switch like this is the ports are all plug and play you can plug them in anyone they ll all work they all work the same and they ll all be on the same network as you can see here. I just plug them in any old random port and it s going to work just fine wi fi is fine. But when possible. I always go for a wired connection for the best results.
The lights flicker on when active and here s a closer look at the laptop connecting to the internet..
There it is that s it for now. If i do run into any problems with this i ll make a video about that later i m going to be putting this by my computer. But i don t currently have a rack mount so once i find one that s a relatively low cost and also pretty good quality. I ll pick that up and most likely make a video about that catch you on the next video hold on one sec solvus this chicken amazon right before i exported this and ” .
